Automatically save screen shots with Screen Shot

1

If you’ve ever wanted to take a picture of your screen, the PrintScreen button is your best friend. Pressing it will save an image of the screen on your clipboard, which in turn you must paste onto an image editing program such as Paint or Photoshop to edit or store the picture.
Unfortunately, it’s a very inefficient process which doesn’t allow you to take many screenshots consecutively. What if there was some way to automatically save the images you’ve taken with PrintScreen without having to paste them onto an image editor? Well now you can, with the free application Screen Shot.

Once installed, you’ll see a little toolbar at the top of your screen. Screen Shot provides an options pane where you can set up automatic screenshot saving in a format you choose. You can set it to save the files on your desktop, your images folder, or anywhere you choose. After you take the screenshots, it’s just a matter of renaming the saved files.
But Screen Shot can do much more than just take and save full screen screenshots. It can capture full web pages, something you normally have to do with an addon like “Webpage Screenshot” for Chrome, take screenshots of segments of a page, such as menus, windows, control menus, and also capture rectangular areas you specify.
Screen Shot lets you define custom hot keys, so you could make scroll lock take pictures of a certain part of the window, or whatever other shortcuts you like.
Screen Shot is a must have for anyone who actively uses the PrintScreen key, as it saves tons of time and lets you catch those moments that slip by when pasting and saving into Paint. The utility works on all versions of Windows -information and download links can be found at its homepage, which can be found here.
